A Guide To Trauma-Informed Self Care
Develop your self-care plan, expand your coping skills and de-escalate your anxiety. (Yes! Even your panic attacks!)
If you're walking through trauma recovery, the lessons contained in this online course are full of ways to help you feel safe and take back control when you feel triggered and "out of control." This is not suppressing and running until the next time it happens...because, we know that doesn't really work.
I'm talking about becoming a student of your behaviors and triggers so that you can develop good self-care and find healthy ways to address what often happens AHEAD of time. The goal is to see the signs before it escalates and preemptively de-escalate a panic attack or unwarranted response.
Your therapist, if you are working with one, and/or support group are key and play important roles in your recovery. The tools you'll develop for yourself here will help you effectively manage your day to day between therapy sessions or your support group meetings.
I first developed these practices to help me navigate my own healing journey and survive the unexpected triggers or overwhelming moments I encountered along the way between therapy sessions.
I was desperate to figure out how to live daily life and still care for myself internally as I was processing my own story. I was determined to stop feeling helpless and wanted my inner world to feel safe.
These tools have been life-giving for me! They've been fine-tuned throughout my own trauma recovery and have been instrumental in helping myself and many others stay the course.
